Ad - Morning everyone! So the current situation is that pretty much all the plants in our flat are faux (or fake, as Coco likes to call them 😂) and that’s because I simply can’t keep real ones alive! I can’t even keep a cactus alive! I mean I’ve tried, but most of the time I simply forget to water them and then when I remember, I swiftly drown them.

But then the very lovely boys at hawswateringcans contacted me - possibly fooled by the permanently lush and burgeoning greenery in my home into thinking I was a house plant expert - and asked me to try out some of their watering cans. Errrrm … should I admit my plants are all plastic? Or shall I just pretend to water them and take some pictures?

.
Instead, I decided to seize the moment for change. Their watering cans are so beautiful and are made in so many gorgeous colours that I reckoned I could leave them out, dotted around the flat, as rather practical objet d’art, so that I’d never forget to water the plants again.

So I’ve created a challenge for myself and the kids and I’ve bought us a real live houseplant each from our local gardening centre thesecretgardencentrese19. We’re going to try to keep them all alive for a month – and hopefully longer! I’ve allocated one watering can to each of us and together we are going on a journey of plant care discovery. So far, things are looking good!

This is 13yr old Zach’s botanical beauty and watering can, which is the Fazeley Flow in Sage. His verdict so far? He loves having his own plant to care for and he says it makes his room feel “fresh”. Well I reckon if we can get a teenage boy’s room to feel fresh then we’re #winning! 😂
