Morning! My mum and dad actually visited us in the flat for the first time in nearly 7 months yesterday, so Coco wanted to put on a full proper tea for them and spent ages laying out her chosen cakes and biscuits on our new little cake stand from Ikea.
.
.
Now Coco and I THOUGHT we’d made a fabulous find with this cake stand - like magpies we were attracted to the shiny gold plates to go with our gold cutlery (swipe for a non laden shot). It was on display with a big red reduced sign on it, but we couldn’t find any stock anywhere! I was gutted because I knew it would be perfect. But Coco persuaded me to take the display one to checkout anyway to see if they’d let us buy it - and they did! We were literally dancing around and singing we were so thrilled - after all, finders keepers! But then I went back to Ikea a couple of days ago and there were literally hundreds of them piled high on the shelves - ALL at the reduced price 😂
.
.
Anyway, it is indeed perfect on our newly upcycled table. Actually, I found another BEFORE shot of our kitchen when the table was still pine (swipe again). It was quite a bold move going for the full black marble finish - especially with a bright green wall - but I totally love it! In fact it’s my new favourite room (apart from Coco’s new room - obviously 😂)

I’m hosting #colourfiedhomes colourfiedhomes today, so dig out your colourful Before & After pictures - I can’t wait to see them and will be choosing my favourites for Stories and the grid later! Just remember to follow all the hosts and this month’s prizegiver creativecables.uk
