Morning everyone! I love this view into my bedroom, especially as it has a complete mix of furniture pieces, which all have stories to tell - and it’s nearly all thrifted or found. .
.
I got this mid century armchair from Brixton Market years ago and upcycled it to dress the stand of my first trade show at Olympia where I launched my brand. This was also my first attempt at upholstery with off-cuts of Designer’s Guild fabric - another one of my projects that is far from perfect! I was beginning to think I needed to re-do it, but then I got this new cushion a couple of days ago and it’s transformed this little corner! It’s remarkably refreshing to have something in my home that I haven’t designed or made myself! 😂 Duffy the puppy clearly seems to love it too, as he’s mirroring the pattern in his dog basket! .
.
The 1930s wardrobe, which you can just see on the far left of the picture, was given to me for free by the wedding dress shop round the corner, which was refurbishing and they just wanted to get rid of it fast. It was brown wood, but I painted it in this gorgeous turquoise and I LOVE it! .
.
.
My desk on the far right was a cheap Ikea purchase 20 yrs ago and originally silver metal. Again, I really wanted to replace it with something nicer, but instead painted the edges and legs in this bright green and now I totally love it and it transformed the whole room! .
.
I’m now gearing up to repaint the blue chest of drawers in my living room that came with the house I used to own 20yrs ago. .
.
Have any of you got a good furniture transformation project on the go? .
