Morning! Spot the difference in my living room! I love the fact that all the shades of green in here now really ring against the new duck egg blue walls. I’ll be painting above the picture rail too & probably even the ceiling to really raise the roof of the room. Watch this space! Oh and also, an episode I styled for new series, Cash in the Spare Room, with almost the same colours, is on HGTV at 9pm tonight! .

So anyway, I’ve been reading lots of posts saying it doesn’t feel right to post about frivolous stuff like interiors when there’s so much serious stuff going on in the world. But I say, this is exactly the time we SHOULD be posting about interiors - for many reasons - and they are not frivolous - .

✅ As more and more of us go into isolation, we need to find more ways for positive social contact online, to avoid loneliness and depression. Social contact that keeps our spirits up and minds creative - and the interiors world on insta is one of the most positive supportive places on social media that I know. .
.
✅ While we are in isolation, we will be spending all our time at home, so this is the moment when it is crucial to ensure our homes are supporting our wellbeing as much as possible - that’s emotional AND physical well-being. We can do this through structure, layout, colour, texture, art, etc - all of which we get inspiration and support for from here. .
.
✅ We need to keep active and creative while in isolation, especially if we can’t do our normal jobs from home - a lot of decorating can be a damn good work out! .

Joyful creativity & responsible seriousness are not mutually exclusive. What does everyone else think? .
