BOY’S BEDROOM MAKEOVER REVEAL!
.
.
Morning everyone! So here is the full room for my nearly 13yr old boy! Or one angle, at least. This is a West facing room and it gets the sun until it goes down, so in the late afternoon and evening you get these incredible golden moments where the room just glows.
.
.
However, when I showed you the sneak peak of the bedside a couple of posts ago, I looked back and realised he didn’t have a lamp yet! Of course this is an absolute bedside essential. Together with a couple of good books, a glass for water and something beautiful. Anyway, I got this gorgeous little lamp from B&Q - beautiful design, incredibly good value. .
.
Oh and have you noticed how perfectly the blind matches the wall colour?! Total fluke! This is an £18 blind from Homebase! I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. Because this is a rental I really don’t want to spend lots of money on made to measure curtains and blinds etc, so it’s all about working with what you’ve got. .
.
This isn’t a typical teenage boy’s room, obviously, with its colour scheme and decoration. And my boy is very BOY’Y if that’s a word! Very sporty, strong, rough and tumble etc and doesn’t want anything pink because it’s ‘girly’ (a totally erroneous judgement of pink of course!). So when he told me last night that his favourite part of the room was the desk area, because of the colours and because it was styled so beautifully with plants and flowers and a scented candle, my heart almost skipped a beat. I just LOVE the fact he is a boy who consciously enjoys having beautiful things around him. Another golden moment. .
