Hi everyone, with so many new people here, I thought I’d introduce myself! This was taken a few months ago by littlehappyspace.
.
I’m an artist & homewares designer, but only started 7 years ago when I changed career in my early 40s. I’m now 50 and a single mum of a 12yr old boy, a 10yr old girl and a puppy! .
.
So my insta name, annalysejacobs. It’s actually my first name Anna, middle name Lyse and surname Jacobs. I used my own name, because when I joined Instagram I was launching my design brand, which is my name. But it was only when I saw my name all run together at the top of the page here, that I realised my psychiatrist father named me, his eldest child, ‘analyse’!!! Just with a spelling mistake (annalyse), which is also typical of him. The funny thing is, my parents hadn’t realised either! 😂. There was a right hullabaloo! 😂
.
> So, I started off as a singer in a girl band (working with Simon Cowell 25 yrs ago!)
.
> Worked in theatre
.
> Joined a cult, escaped after 6 years & landed back in London aged 30 with nothing.
.
> set up and headed the 1st marketing & BD department of a big law firm in London.
.
> Bought a house & a car.
.
> Got engaged, had a baby.
.
> After 8 years at the law firm & pregnant again, left the law firm to become an artist.
.
> Shortly afterwards, aged 41, unexpectedly became a single parent of a baby & a toddler, having lost everything again - my house & all my money - as well as my self esteem and confidence.
.
> Started painting and designing products.
.
> Launched my brand 5 years ago.
.
> Now give talks on how to use colour in your home at the Ideal Home Show & Grand Designs Live.
.
That’s it in a nutshell!
