Happy Monday everyone! It was the turn of my blue staircase to go a bit nuts on here this weekend, thanks to the fabulous team who have started the new hashtag, #colormadetheroom. So I thought you might like to see what it looks like from the top looking down. .
.
A few weeks ago this was a scruffy white transition space that I basically ignored. But, then something hit me that this was in fact the heart of our home. It’s right in the middle of everything - in the middle of the rooms downstairs and it leads to the children’s rooms upstairs. So it needed some life and joy! It’s amazing what a difference you can make if you just add some colour. I decided not to do the full mural on the left hand side, because it’s a narrow staircase and I thought it would make it feel too closed in and intense. So now it has loads of life, but still feels light and airy - and it has made SUCH a difference to our whole flat! The black and white photograph was a gift from the renowned architectural photographer, timothysoarphotographer, after we’d worked together nearly 20 years ago. .
.
Little Duffy the puppy at the bottom was feeling slightly guilty as I took this pic, because I had just found bits of one of my beautiful paper baubles upstairs, but hadn’t yet found the ravaged bauble itself. No smoke without fire, hey Duffy?! 😂 .
.
#storyofmyhome - 3 - no smoke without fire
#myhousethismonth - 3 - add some colour (oh ok, if you insist!😂)
