Good morning everyone! Since closing our popup shop last week I’ve taken a break from social media, so that I could have as much undistracted time as possible with these two munchkins. After all, they were a very big reason why I decided to close it. I realized that if I was on my death bed and I thought about whether there was anything I regretted or wished I’d done, the only thing I would regret is not spending more time with them. They are 11 and 8 (nearly 9) now and time is running out! Zach and Coco have been amazing since I started building this business 4.5 years ago. They’ve had to put up with me working long hours, going through waves of stress and anxiety, particularly at the beginning, making lampshades on a pasting table set up between the sofa and the TV (getting in the way of their cartoons!), living amongst hundreds of boxes, lamps and cushions in our old flat, practically living at Heal’s for weeks at a time, spending their weekends and holidays in the shop or at shows, handing out leaflets, charming customers and even doing a great job selling our bedlinen by falling asleep in the display bed in the shop! They are the best, most wonderful, brilliant kids. And now they need a break and some home time with me. So that’s why I’m building my business more from home in our new flat, with shorter term, more flexible popups and of course, continuing to build our presence online.
