Former Texas A&M Aggie and first-round-caliber pass rusher Nic Scourton suffered a scary injury during the Panthers’ first training camp practice after going down with an apparent right knee injury. Trainers rushed onto the field before Scourton was carted off, leaving teammates and coaches visibly concerned.

Scourton entered the season expected to play a major role in Carolina’s defense after an impressive rookie campaign. The emotional scene brought practice to a halt as players gathered around the young edge rusher before he was taken in for further evaluation.

The Panthers are now awaiting MRI results to determine the severity of the injury. Fans across the NFL are hoping the former Aggie can avoid a major setback and return to the field soon after what looked like a frightening moment on Day 1 of camp.
