I intended to post this yesterday, as it was my birthday - and the most amazing birthday present ever has been moving home into this amazing new flat! In the end I was so busy trying to unpack the last few boxes in time for people coming round in the evening, plus keeping the business going and picking up my kids from school, that I ran out of time for social media. I have to admit I ended up stuffing a few of the unpacked ones into cupboards - to be dealt with later! Anyway, this is what I now like to call my miniature ‘library’, with colour coordinated books (of course), in the corner of my new bedroom. This flat is on the top floor of one of those amazing big Victorian houses in Crystal Palace. We had to move fast in the end, after being burgled so many times in our old ground floor flat. It is amazing to be able to open all the windows without worrying that someone could climb in at any moment! We have fresh air! We also have a proper garden for the first time, that backs on to woods, with perfect trees for climbing and den building, so it feels like we’re in the countryside. The kids also have their own bedrooms for the first time, which has been especially important for Zach now that he’s started secondary school - sharing a tiny room in bunk beds with his little sister was becoming quite a strain! As we’re renting ( I used to own a house, but lost it 9 years ago - long story!), my plan is to start a blog on doing up a rental, based on this flat, following our journey setting it up, tips and tricks, etc. I should have the first post up in the next couple of weeks. .
.
For now though, I’m opening my Wandsworth Artists’ Open House show again this weekend - the SUPER SALE IS STILL ON!! 11am - 6pm today and tomorrow, at 19 Routh Road, London, SW18 3SP. Hope to see you there! .
