Dale Hintz's first aid and CPR training was what allowed him to save his wife's life last fall. ❤️

In October, he found his wife unconscious and unresponsive in their home — he quickly assessed the situation, called 911 and started CPR until emergency personnel arrived. The EMTs were able to resuscitate and stabilize his wife by using an AED, and transferred her to a local hospital.

Dale received and continued his first aid and CPR training during his time in the Navy, as a Boy Scout Leader and through his current employer.

“When it was time to perform CPR, I’m glad that my training turned into quick action to help save the life of my wife," he said. "You never know when an emergency is going to happen so having these skills can make the difference in turning a situation into a happy ending."

Thanks to his quick and heroic actions, the situation did turn into a happy ending with his wife making a full recovery! Dale was also awarded the ✨ Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action✨ from RedCrossOfWisconsin for stepping up in an emergency situation and helping save a life.
