## Caption

The removal of Cape Coral's Chiquita Boat Lock will go to a hearing and pit environmentalists, boaters, manatee lovers, and officials against each other starting in late November.

Administrative law judge Suzanne Van Wyk will hear the case between Nov. 29- Dec.1, and Dec. 4-7 in Fort Myers.

Cape Coral officials are arguing for removing the boat lock saying it has outlived its usefulness, causes unnecessary safety concerns to boaters, and that the city's new environmental plans sufficiently address environmental concerns.

Opponents of the removal argue that it would harm the mangroves and the water in the Caloosahatche River.
