## Caption

Dive into some lake views around the world. 🌊

The Expedition 71 crew captured these images as this space station was orbiting roughly 260 miles above.

Pic 1) Lake Tekapo's turquoise color contrasts against the surrounding mountains as the station orbited 266 miles above New Zealand's South Island. Fed by the Godley River, it's one of three nearly parallel lakes in the Mackenzie Basin. Next to it lies Lake Alexandria.

Pic 2) Lake Pukaki, fed by the Tasman River and south of Aoraki/Mount Cook in the Southern Alps, is pictured from the station as it orbited 266 miles above New Zealand.

Pic 3) In southeastern Kazakhstan lies Lake Balkhash, one of the largest in Asia, photographed from the station as it orbited 260 miles above. Its turquoise color comes from winter ice melting.

Pic 4) Lake Michigan figures prominently in the United States' upper midwest region with Lake Superior and Lake Huron in this photograph from the station as it orbited 257 miles above North America.
