Just finished my first class session for 🎤The Art of Rhyme🎤 for my middle school students this semester. Lots of returning stusents from last semester but it's nice to see some new faces.

One of my main objectives is helping students figure out WHY they like the music they do. They be like "I like ____" & I'm like okay cool, Why? And it's a lot of "idk, cause they good" .
.
Getting into the elements of rap (rhymes and rhyme scheme, rhythm, storytelling,  being real, etc) hopefully will help them narrow down on reasons. When I probe deeper, they know a lot and have some great opinions to share.
