## Caption

I went to my Great Aunt’s funeral today and her favorite bible passage was Psalm 23. This passage is very well known and it begins with, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Pastor stopped right there to explain that God is the Shepherd and we are His sheep. On my train ride home I decided to dig a little deeper because I was curious as to why we are considered sheep of all things. I learned that sheep have no sense of direction, sheep can’t get up without help, sheep do not carry loads/burdens on their backs like many other animals, sheep will settle for less, sheep have the inability to care for themselves when wounded, and sheep were valuable and to be treated as prized possessions. 😮‍💨 When I read this I said whew, the shadeeeee 😂 As His sheep, we have no way of living our life without a Shepherd, life will be extremely challenging to say the least because we will always be in need of a Shepherd who loves, guides, protects, corrects, and cares for us. 

Psalm 23 is a Word that I memorized but never took the time to dissect. It provided me comfort that in the midst of change, fear, uncomfortableness, and uncertainty in an assignment I know He has placed on my heart, He is there to guide me as His prized possession in the midst of the valley.
I pray that you find comfort in this like I have and that You walk towards what feels scary because God has something prepared for you on the other side of that fear that is about to blow your mind 🤍
