🎉 Happy 77th Birthday, Carlos Flores!

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Carlos Flores a photographer, educator, musician, cultural leader, and proud Afro-Puerto Rican, whose photographs have documented more than five decades of Puerto Rican history, culture, and community in Chicago.

As Carlos celebrates his 77th birthday, we invite you to give him a meaningful birthday gift. The Friends of Carlos Flores has launched a GoFundMe Campaign to help Carlos with his growing medical expenses and home health care needs. If Carlos' photographs, leadership, and lifelong dedication to our community have touched your life, please consider making a birthday donation in his honor.

We also invite you to celebrate Carlos' remarkable legacy at the opening reception of Carlos Flores: A ChicagoRican Story on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance Center Gallery.

Every birthday gift, donation, and shared memory helps honor a lifetime dedicated to preserving the history, culture, and resilience of Puerto Rican Chicago.

Thank you for giving our community the priceless gift of its history.
