Lake Mead stands out as the deadliest national park in the nation, with a staggering 317 deaths reported since 2007, significantly surpassing other well-known parks.

In comparison, the Grand Canyon National Park ranks second with 198 deaths, and Yosemite National Park comes in third with 179 deaths over the same period. Despite their popularity and challenging terrains, these parks have fewer fatalities than Lake Mead.

So far this year, there have been 19 confirmed deaths within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which includes Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, and their surroundings.

This high number of deaths at Lake Mead is attributed mainly to drownings, which remain a significant cause of fatalities.

Visitors to Lake Mead should always wear life jackets and avoid mixing alcohol with swimming to reduce the risk of accidents.

Stay safe, Las Vegas.
