The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is cracking down on illegal fireworks in Clark County.

Since the task force began operations last weekend, two 30-foot containers have been filled with confiscated fireworks.

Due to the overwhelming volume, more containers have been ordered to accommodate ongoing seizures. Already, the number of citations issued and the amount of fireworks confiscated have surpassed the totals for all of 2023.

A common excuse from violators is, “We didn’t know these fireworks were illegal.” According to LVMPD, there are signs posted at the entrances and exits of Clark County, clearly stating that transporting and possessing illegal fireworks is against the law.

Residents are advised to purchase only “Safe and Sane” fireworks, which are available throughout Clark County, to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.
