With increasing construction activity, road safety has become a critical concern. Governor Joe Lombardo, the Nevada Department of Transportation, and the Associated General Contractors have initiated the “Respect the Cone” campaign to address the growing number of work zone crashes and fatalities in Nevada.

The campaign highlights a significant 39% rise in work zone crashes from 2022 to 2023, emphasizing the need for drivers to exercise extra caution around construction sites.

Advocates believe many of these accidents are preventable and urge drivers to prioritize the safety of construction workers.

The “Respect the Cone” campaign reminds drivers that more construction projects are planned for the summer, underscoring the continuous need for vigilance on the roads.
