For those who don’t know, Being Mary Jane was more than just a TV show to me. It was part of the reason I dared to believe that a girl from Harare, Zimbabwe, could become a journalist, build a career in media, and find herself living in Miami thank to @panashe97 , chasing the very dreams that once felt so far away. 🎤🇿🇼🇺🇸

Gabrielle Union has been an inspiration throughout my journey, and seeing her in person was a full circle moment I genuinely cannot put into words.

With all the uncertainty, immigration challenges, and obstacles that come with building a life and career in a different country, moments like these remind me why I started and why I cannot give up. Sometimes, God allows you to walk into rooms that the little girl you once were could only dream of entering. 🙏🏾🥹
