I have always been a huge fan of mythology and the way that staceyrswann weaved Greek myth within this Southern family epic was absolutely brilliant. I can not remember the last time I read a story that was so packed with dysfunction, drama, and deceit.

The Briscoes are behaving VERY badly, and the gossips of Olympus are here for the front row seats to the incessant family scandals.  The patriarch of the family has fathered several children outside of his marriage, June harbors major animosity towards one of her sons, Hap’s brother has slept with his wife, and Artie is in love with the town’s bad boy. What follows is an unforgettable saga that plunges the reader into the psychological complexities of marriage and family dynamics and explores the fallout of what can happen when we act on our best and worst desires.

This is the gmabookclub pick for this month and It. Was. Fantastic.  The fact that this is staceyrswann’s DEBUT novel is absolutely mind-blowing to me and I can’t wait to read what she writes next.
