It’s been a long journey to the Winter Olympics for skier Arif Khan, one that started more than 20 years ago in the small Indian village of Tangmarg where he dreamt of competing on the big stage. After missing out on competing in PyeongChang four years ago, Khan finally realized his dream in Beijing as India’s sole representative at the Games. He placed 45th in the men’s giant slalom, but said his goal was simply to finish the race amid difficult conditions (📸 Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images).
