Iceland has been an extremely popular travel destination over the last few years. For two weeks, codyconk , danielle.cheree & I road tripped The Ring Road, The Golden Circle, The Highland, Westfjords & Reykjavik to name a few and there’s still so much we have yet to see!

Were we fully prepared for the trip? No. But can you ever be fully ready for Iceland? Unless constant fluctuating weather is your thing, not really 😅

【Save this post when planning for Iceland 🇮🇸 】

🇮🇸 Book in advance: when traveling, I usually plan trips a week in advance and then figure it out as I go. That doesn’t fly in Iceland. Make sure to book all your accommodations and tickets in advance — don’t be surprised if you’re looking for a hotel the day of and find no availabilities in the entire country.
🇮🇸 Bring lots of layers: it’s cold. Even in the summer, it’s cold. Don’t underestimate the weather and bring layers layers layers - rain & winter jackets, beanies, gloves, scarves, snow pants, etc.
🇮🇸 Stock up at the supermarkets: especially if you’re road tripping (which I highly recommend), stock up on groceries before hitting the road. There’s also a Costco 15 minutes outside of Reykjavik so if you have your membership card, you’ll get the best deals there!
🇮🇸 Bring a debit card with a 4-digit pin: when you’re filling up gas, you’re gonna be asked to input a 4-digit pin. You don’t wanna run into a situation where you’re stuck at the gas station at 3AM and can’t fill up your tank.
