Nebraska remained No. 1 in the AVCA/Taraflex Division I Women’s Volleyball Coaches Poll on Monday after a 3-0 week at the Devaney Center.

The Huskers, who are 7-0, defeated New Mexico, then-No. 20 Baylor and Georgia Tech last week. Nebraska is followed by Pittsburgh at No. 2 and Louisville at No. 3.

Kentucky is No. 4 and SMU moved up three spots to No. 5. Wisconsin stayed at No. 6, while Texas moved up two places to No. 7. Stanford fell four spots to No. 8 after being ranked fourth a week ago.

Creighton dropped five spots to No. 20 after a 1-2 weekend at the Rice Invitational in Houston. The Bluejays opened the event with a four-set win over Northern Iowa before losing in four sets to No. 5 Louisville and Rice.

Nebraska and Creighton meet Wednesday night in Lincoln in one of the state’s most anticipated nonconference matches. The Huskers have won all 22 previous meetings in the official series, including five-set victories over the Bluejays in each of the past two seasons.

The Big Ten again placed several teams in the Top 25. Penn State moved up three places to No. 9, Purdue climbed to No. 11 and Minnesota is No. 14. Indiana is ranked No. 21, while Oregon is No. 23.

Louisville made the week’s biggest move among the top teams, rising from No. 5 to No. 3. SMU’s three-spot climb also placed the Mustangs in the top five. Arizona State had the largest drop among ranked teams, falling five places to No. 12.
