Most drivers instinctively slow way down before a pothole—but physics says sometimes speeding up is actually better for your car (and your spine).

Here’s why:
	•	Your car + suspension act like a spring system.
	•	The jolt depends on how long your wheel is in the pothole.
	•	At slower speeds, your wheel “drops” deeper and spends more time bottoming out—transferring more of that motion into the suspension (and you!).
	•	At higher speeds, the wheel is in contact for a shorter time, so the suspension smooths over the bump instead of fully falling in.

⚠️ Important: This only applies to shallow potholes and moderate speeds—flying over craters will still destroy your suspension, alignment, and tires.

Think of it like running: stepping quickly over a small hole feels easier than carefully lowering your foot into it.

🚗💡 What do you do when you see a pothole—slow down, swerve, or send it?
