Welp, we’ve realized years into our marriage that we are NOT meant to be opponents, we are teammates! 🀍 Being teammates means you communicate with each other to accomplish the goal ahead. It means you are running toward the same thing and supporting each other as you move toward it. It means when one of you is lagging or struggling, the other encourages, helps, or takes the reigns for awhile. It means you both are FOR each other! 🀍 God created marriage to be beautiful! It’s such an amazing picture of servanthood and loving each other through putting each other first! He created it to be a sweet partnership, where each person makes the other better through encouragement and challenge! God did not create it to be a competition or a keeping of lists of wrongs! That is NOT beneficial to marriage in ANY way! 🀍 Because you are on the same team, fight for each other, not against each other! When we come into arguments, that statement can be really hard to remember, but it puts the disagreements into such perspective.
