Prioritizing is Good for the soul 🤍

Prioritizing your spouse is good for your soul, the soul of your marriage, and the soul of your family!
.
Children need to see that they actually DONT come first, but that mom and dad do! That’s not to say they are not a priority or they get the short end of the stick. It’s to show them that mom and dad were a family first and they are a welcome addition to the family, but that mom and dad time is a first priority!
.
Prioritizing each other gives children such security and wisdom in what a marriage and a family dynamic should be! The benefits of them watching mom and dad dating each other or having intentional communication time is unmatched! 
.
We absolutely love dating each other, but definitely don’t make it as much of a priority as we should, but I wanted to encourage others and even ourselves to just do what you can! Start small. Here are a couple things we do to help prioritize each other!
 1. Go on a date!! Go once a month if you can’t do every week. But just GO!!
 2. Have couch time! This is a time where the two of you just talk. About your day, about the kids etc. it’s for 30min and the kids are NOT allowed to interrupt. Sometimes we do this in our bedroom and shut the door. And if the kiddos come a knocking, we just remind them we are having mom and dad time and that we will be done soon!

These things have helped our family grow in strength, closeness, and security! It truly is so good for the soul! We fully believe that’s how God created it to be! 🤍
