Oshkosh has a long history of developing electric and hybrid purpose-built vehicles, and recently received a purchase order for a #StrikerVolterra 6x6 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) hybrid electric vehicle from King County International Airport-Boeing Field. This will be the first oshkosh_airport_products Striker Volterra put into service at an airport in the United States. The #Striker #Volterra 6x6 utilizes Oshkosh’s patented hybrid-electric drivetrain with an electro-mechanical infinitely variable transmission. This enables zero-emissions operation through an integrated onboard battery and uninterrupted power supply by coupling with the internal combustion engine for pumping and drive systems.
