KSRTC Driver Rush Elderly Woman to VPS Lakeshore Hospital, Saving Her Life in Timely Intervention

The timely intervention of a KSRTC bus driver and conductor, who were heading to Trivandrum, saved the life of a 60-year-old woman who collapsed in the bus on Wednesday. The bus diverted from its route and rushed to the emergency department of VPS Lakeshore Hospital to ensure prompt medical attention.

The incident occurred around 12:30 PM when the bus, carrying the woman and other passengers, arrived at the hospital. The elderly woman, who had boarded the bus at the Vyttila hub, collapsed and lost consciousness as the bus reached Kundannoor.

Driver Lithin and Conductor Lenin Sreenivasan immediately took action, diverting the vehicle to VPS Lakeshore Hospital from Madavana Junction after being informed by a fellow passenger seated near the elderly woman.

"We were alerted by a passenger when the woman collapsed. Since we knew Lakeshore Hospital was nearby, we decided to take a diversion after informing the passengers on board," said the duo.

The woman, who displayed symptoms of cardiac arrest, was rushed to the hospital’s emergency department, where she was given immediate medical attention, saving her life.

The bus remained at the hospital for nearly 30 minutes before continuing its journey to Trivandrum. Both the driver and conductor expressed their happiness at being part of a life-saving effort. Footage from the bus's CCTV, capturing its quick dash to the hospital, has since gone viral on social media platforms.
