There’s something so satisfying about frosting a single layer cake - making swoops and swirls in the frosting never fails to impress (although it’s actually the most simple decorating technique!)🥕😍 Here are my tips for frosting a stunning single-layer cake:

1) Pile all the frosting on in the center of the cake, and begin pushing it outwards with an offset spatula. Don’t break past the edges of the frosting - keeping those unbroken will create the prettiest finish. I also like to let the outer corners of the cake peek out!

2) Once your frosting is covering the cake, use the tip of your offset spatula to create peaks & valleys, swoops & swirls. Be playful and have fun! 🥳

3) Finish the whole thing off with a garnish! Use a dusting of chopped nuts, a flurry of sprinkles, or a drizzle of caramel sauce - whatever ingredients compliment the flavors of the cake! Garnish is the key to making anything you make look *chefs kiss* perfect 😘
