I genuinely think Dancing with the Stars is one of the most impressive productions on television. 🪩

And I don't think people fully appreciate just HOW much goes into pulling it off every single week.

Think about it.

They're designing and building new sets, creating custom costumes, doing hair and makeup, clearing music, rehearsing live musical performances, coordinating cameras and live production, sourcing talent, and somehow making sure the voting system doesn't crash.

Meanwhile, the professional dancers are choreographing brand-new routines, teaching those routines to people who often have ZERO dance experience, learning additional group performances, creating TikTok content throughout the week, traveling, managing schedules, and, for many of them, raising families and maintaining lives outside of the show. And then they do it ALL OVER AGAIN the following week. For 10–12 weeks straight.

Working at Fresh Tape Media, I have a pretty good understanding of how much planning, coordination, creativity, and problem-solving goes into even a single production.

So when I watch DWTS, I'm not just watching the dancing. I'm thinking about the production managers, choreographers, set designers, costume designers, glam teams, camera operators, audio engineers, editors, stage managers, talent coordinators, and the probably very sleep-deprived people keeping that entire machine running.

The sheer amount of talent and coordination required to make something that complicated look so effortless on live television is INSANE.

Anyway, this is my unsolicited love letter to everyone who makes Dancing with the Stars happen every week.

You are ridiculously good at your jobs. 👏 AND yes, I'll be texting EZRA and MAURA to 21523 tonight.
