My favorite campaigns are often tied to a physical thing. Something where people say "I see that EVERYWHERE." We've pulled it off a few times, and it never gets old.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) #NBA75 bedazzled ball is one of our first examples. It started as a prop for the NBA Draft and ended up becoming the unofficial mascot of an entire season. Kevin Hart, Spike Lee, Giannis, Reggie Miller... the thing was genuinely EVERYWHERE.

More recently, the Mega Mic we built for Threads/ Meta. A giant (and actually functional) microphone that started at NBA Cup and somehow made its way to NBA All-Star, the Super Bowl, the Oscars, and beyond. And the Threads Throne has had a similar run, going from the College Football Playoff to the Olympics to the X Games. Peep the photos to see the text thread with Max Huggins that kicked the whole thing off.

What I love about these concepts is that they take on a life of their own. Players and celebrities WANT to interact with them. Fans start recognizing them. And eventually the thing itself becomes something people are excited to see, regardless of who's holding it or sitting on it.

There's something incredibly satisfying about scrolling through your feed and seeing something your team built show up somewhere you never expected it. The secret that I probably shouldn't share (if somehow you scrolled down this far, hooray) is building something unexpectedly small, something unexpectedly big, or something super shiny. But no matter what, it needs to be familiar.

The goal is a ton of content shared...and sometimes the best way to make a lot of content is to make one really cool thing that everyone wants to make content with.

The Fresh Tape Media squad is hella good at making them too.
