## Caption

It took every ounce of will power I have in my body to complete summit #51 today. But, I did it. 22 miles and 6500ft later I made it back to my car in one stretch.  Snowmass is the only 14er to royally kick my butt back. I understand now, why people prefer to do it in the snow. The endless boulder field, scree, and steep grade was like hell on my body. Especially the last few miles to my car, as I just ignored the pain and just went on autopilot. But, like many times with hiking. The views were absolutely worth it!
