I made a post awhile back while in Hawaii about how I couldn't believe how isolated some of the iconic places were on the island. This was the day that really prompted that post. I heard so much about this Green Sand Beach located on the Southwest corner of the Big Island. From articles saying its in the top 10 places you need to visit before you die. To every other local telling me to visit there including a bike tourist who I met by the name of Ken. So, one morning I made my way there and once I arrived I had an eye brow raised because it was just a dirt road leading to the ocean.
I asked the only person around who was a guy loading his fishing boat into the water where exactly this place was as the signs just kinda dumped me here. He pointed and said about three miles that way. So, I threw on my hiking shoes and began trekking along the coast. Not seeing a single soul. I began to quietly get worried that this guy suckered me into robbing the car. But finally, after three miles I arrived to this stunning location. Not a single other person there. I was free to roam the beach. Snapping photos without having to worry about anyone getting in my shot. Being there for well over an hour not a single other person came along. For once, while shooting an iconic location I felt one with nature. Just me, my camera, and the sound of waves crashing along the shoreline.
