## Caption

What does giving “thanks” actually mean? 🤔🦃… The word "thanks" has a fascinating linguistic journey that traces back to its Proto-Indo-European roots. It originates from the Latin root *tong-, which signifies "to think, feel." This root eventually evolved into a term expressing gratitude, thought, or favor. It’s interesting that it seems like Thanksgiving is referring to our feelings, but literally it is referring to our thoughts. #funfacts #HistoryTime #thanksgiving #thanksandgiving #language
