Yup. While you’re in the ICU, you should be trying to learn as much as you can about the interventions and pathophysiology/pharmacology you encounter on your unit. ⁠
⁠
You encounter so many SICK patients. They’re complicated. This is your chance to really try to understand why you're doing what you’re doing. Take the time to study your patients while you’re working in the ICU so you’re not stressing and cramming 2 weeks before your interview. ⁠
⁠
Your time in the ICU is EXTREMELY valuable and will give you the foundation you need for CRNA school. I know you want to rush it, but trust me, the admissions committee will sniff out really quickly if you don’t have the foundational knowledge that you need to set yourself up for success. ⁠
⁠
So take notes and do yourself a favor and study while you’re in the ICU. And you can use our CRNA School Applicant Planner (there’s a Clinical Diary section in the back) and write down notes from your shift. That way, when you’re preparing for your interview, or writing your essay, you can refer back to it. Link in our bio! ⁠
