⁠If you've been around here for a while you'll know that I continuously remind you to start on your essays *early*. ⁠

Why? ⁠
⁠
First of all, it's going to probably take you 3 times longer than you think to write them. ⁠
⁠
Second, you're going to want to get multiple people to read your drafts. ⁠
⁠
Third, the essay needs to be polished, insightful, and most importantly - personal (in a non-spill your deepest darkest secrets kind of way). ⁠
⁠
Captivating is the descriptor we're aiming for here. ⁠
⁠
Take your time. Start early. And get a few people to read through them. ⁠
⁠
I've yet to read an essay that didn't need multiple edits. Most people go through three or more reviews. Take time to get it right, it's a process, but entirely worth it! ⁠
