⁠This past Friday we had a talk from Developmental Editor Dr. Cady. She gave our Accelerator students a TON of great tips when it comes to developing a professional and polished essay. ⁠
⁠
Dr. Cady works with graduate students, physicians, researchers and doctoral students. She's taught for some incredible universities and is an extremely valuable asset to the team. ⁠
⁠
One big thing she always mentions is start with a "braindump", she discusses this on the podcast a bit more, but she also talked about this with our students on Friday.⁠

Just get everything you *think* you might want to mention, even minute details, down on paper. Or if this works better for you, just hit record on your iphone and start talking. Then you can use an online transcribe site to get it onto paper. ⁠

The main thing is, you want to just generate as many content ideas as you can. Don't worry about editing, the flow, or worry about how it sounds. Just get it out of your head. ⁠

This will give you a lot of raw material to work with, and you'll be beating the writer's block. ⁠
