## Caption

💡All programs will as EQ gauging questions, and some will ask clinical questions, and even less seem to ask these rando, “left-field” questions. 

However, it’s important that you are prepared for each. 

The important thing when preparing for EQ questions is to have stories (scenarios) in mind that are applicable in answering a few different questions. So pick themes, think of a time where you were: 

⁃Resilient
⁃Compassionate
⁃A leader
⁃Experienced conflict
⁃Experienced extreme stress
⁃Displayed perseverance

And clinical? Study the medications and pathophysiologies you experience on your unit. Don’t bring up a balloon pump if you used it ONE time. Bring up only what you feel confident explaining. Make sure you know drug receptor, intended and unintended effects, and dose. 

Left field questions aka those questions that leave you scratching your head, wondering why the heck they asked you that. The worst thing you could do is freeze and nervously laugh and say “Oh I don’t know!”. Don’t be boring. Get into it. The main thing? Explain you rationale with enthusiasm for whatever type of tree, animal, fruit or planet you would be 🍓
