Smarties are not to be taken lightly!  First launched in 1882 under a different name - Chocolate Beans - Smarties have since acquired a huge following! And for good reason: they are colorful, light and oh so delicious! The Smarties brand was brought into Nestlé's fold in 1988 when Nestlé acquired Rowntree.
