Plastic waste is an issue and plastic pollution mainly ends up in oceans due to a lack of proper collection and recycling infrastructure. Our aim at Nestle Waters is to close the loop for a circular economy of our plastic bottles.
We commit for 100% recyclable or reusable plastic by 2025, to increase the collection rate of our PET bottles in every country where we operate.
As a concrete example, US announced last week 25% recycled PET in its bottles by 2021 and 50% by 2025, following this year the release of Nestlé Pure Life 700ml on the go 100% recycled PET bottles.
This is just one step toward the circular economy of our bottles, more is to come, stay tuned!
