Welcome to episode 33 of #humanfriday, where you get to know the people that are Chronoswiss. Today we present Reto Marxer – a true jack of all trades.

Model, photographer, car mechanic, ski instructor in New Zealand, fitness centre and food tastings manager, events coordinator, market stall holder, whisky shop manager, vintage watch dealer – the exciting CV of Reto Marxer has taken him around the world and Switzerland, and now he is happy to work at a local company close to where he grew up. 

How would you describe your work at Chronoswiss? 
“I am this,” Reto laughs and shows me a Swiss army knife. “I started in 2015 with sales in the boutique. And I also help build displays for the boutiques. I take the photos for the certified pre-owned section … and when we had the flood last summer, I cleaned out the basement. In a small company you can’t be only a specialist; you help each other.

What makes Chronoswiss special? 
“I would say that in this price segment of 8,000–10,000 francs Chronoswiss has the most extravagant collections on the market. Hardly anyone else makes regulators, and with the guilloché and the colours we have a really special look. When I started here in 2015, we had innovative and classic watches. And we had a tremendous evolution in the last years – wow! Now we do something that others don’t do. Maybe it has to be love at first sight?” 

What is your favourite Chronoswiss model in the current collection?
“The SkelTec, the Opus, the Chocolate ReSec … and the grey and blue Flying Grand Regulator. And One thing that I like: If you wear a Chronoswiss, people ask you what it is.” 

How would other people describe you?
“I am always happy and in a good mood, friendly, easy to talk to. But maybe you should ask the others if they also see it that way?” (Laughs.)
