Welcome to episode 28 of #humanfriday, where we present team members and fascinating personalities linked with Chronoswiss. Today: Christof Innerhofer, Super-G world champion and downhill Olympic medallist who recently joined the Chronoswiss family. 

The Italian World Cup downhill and Super-G skier Christof Innerhofer wears a Chronoswiss SkelTec with rose gold details. “I enjoy being different from others, and that’s why I love Chronoswiss. Its watches are completely individual in their expression – and so is my style of skiing. So, the SkelTec fits me hand in glove,” said the 36-year-old when he visited the Chronoswiss atelier in Lucerne.

Now you have worn your SkelTec for a few weeks. What is your impression?
“It feels really good on the wrist! Every morning when I wind it, I see how all the moving parts are connected with each other. For somebody like me who is obsessed with details this is super fascinating.” 

Why are you obsessed with details? 
“In the end it is the details that make the difference in your performance. The watch becomes a reminder that it is only when you are willing to work on the small things in life that you can improve yourself.”

When do you wear it?
“All the time, apart from when I am skiing a gated course. I like to always know what time it is … time is obviously an essential part of my life, since a 100th of a second could change everything. But on my mechanical watch it is enough to see hours and minutes to know when it is time for training or racing – or when it is time to relax and just enjoy life.”

The season opens in November on the American continent – how are you preparing? 
 “I am in excellent shape after a disciplined pre-season, and with the team I am preparing myself and the equipment to maximise my chances of being among the best when the season starts in November. I hope that I will be able to wear my SkelTec on the podium! And as I am a bit superstitious – maybe the gold on the watch will bring me some luck?”
