Welcome to episode 22 of #humanfriday, where we meet journalist, photographer and creative director Anders Modig. He is the maker of Chronoswiss’ social media content in close collaboration with the atelier in Lucerne.

Anders Modig has been a journalist and photographer for 23 years and has 16 years of experience from the watch industry. These 16 horological years have given Anders a kaleidoscopic insight and heterogenic experience which includes creation of text, photography, magazines, newspapers, books, films, media releases, communication, product launches, events and architectural concepts.

What makes, in your mind, Chronoswiss stand out in comparison with other brands?
“Its timepieces are instantly recognisable in a watch world where the origin oftentimes could not be recognised if you remove the logotype. And I love the true and genuine evolution of Chronoswiss.”

What do you mean?
“Just look at the three-dimensional hybrid dials with guilloché made by hand in the Lucerne atelier, coated with CVD that in some cases change colours. While taking these evolutionary steps Chronoswiss remains true to its roots by keeping and reinterpreting design details like the knurled bezel and the onion crown. For a design nerd and storyteller like me, all this is simply a treasure trove for great ideas worth sharing.

Which are your favourite Chronoswiss models to photograph?
“First I must say the Paraiba, for the colour changing dial. The ReSec Classic, the Big Wave, and let’s not forget diving into the revealed mechanics of the Opus … In the end I really love that a few case models offer so many different textures. With the close-ups I really try to give the viewer an idea about how it would feel to touch the watch, even the parts under glass that you cannot touch.” photo portrait Stian Foss
