Meet Marc! He is responsible for the biogas plant next to our Henniez factory.
However, the main purpose of this plant run by energy provider Greenwatt is not to generate energy, but to protect the water. How come? The plant uses the manure from local farms that would otherwise be spread on the fields, potentially threatening the underground water. This manure is then transformed together with Nespresso coffee grounds into heat and power for more than 800 households! And the farmers receive a high quality organic fertiliser in exchange after the recycling process.
(And no, Marc isn’t showing manure on the pic, this is coffee grounds… 😜) 💦🏭💡👍🏼🐄 ⚡️💩 💧
