FIRST: Did you know you can bring your own water craft to famous #morainelake?? ..and ALL bodies of water in Banff National Park?

Floating on this Gatorade water is bucket list worthy, and no matter how you experience, it’s worth it! However, if you want to bring your own gear, you can go for FREE…

3 IMPORTANT Things to Know: 

〽️TRANSPORTATION 2023 Update: Private vehicles are no longer allowed to drive to Moraine Lake - but, parks.canada allows you to bring INFLATABLE kayaks and SUP’s on the shuttle. Be sure to visit their website for current restrictions and updates! 
•
〽️ CERTIFY Your watercraft - it sounds like a lot but it’s super easy! To prevent the spread of aquatic diseases, visitors must fill out a Self Certification Permit with parks.canada before launching. You can fill out the form online - or, we completed upon arrival. 
⚠️ Make absolutely sure your SUP is clean and dry— let’s be respectful of this wonderland, and keep these gorgeous lakes blue! 🙏 
•
〽️ LIFE VEST is required—but don’t worry if you didn’t bring! The tour operators rent for ~$10.
• 
Imagine 😂: as were about to shove off, a Canadian ranger popped out of the trees to (very kindly!) remind us about life vests. The tour operators even allowed us to skip the LONG kayak rental lines to grab 2 vests. NOTE: You can also purchase inflatable vests on Amazon, but it must include a whistle!

〽️BONUS: when you bring your own watercraft, there’s no time limit!

REMINDER: personal watercraft’s can be taken onto ALL of Banff’s stunning lakes. And while Moraine is gorgeous — floating at nearby #yohonationalpark was likely our favorite! ✨
