The biggest question: 
 What do we do with my placenta after our unassisted home birth?! 
Well, this time I decided to see what happens to it if you do nothing 🤷🏼‍♀️
So we sat it on the bathroom counter, and did nothing 😆
Dominique jokingly called it an experiment and that’s kind of exactly what it was! I had no idea these facts about the placenta:
1. About 12 hours after birth, the placenta had let out a huge layer of water and MORE blood, into the bowl (we only kept it connected to baby for a couple hours, and then cut it once whartons jelly had mostly compressed the blood vessels and bleeding was almost done, no clamping needed)
2. After two weeks, It never started to smell bad (how crazy is that?!)
3. The entire placenta and left over blood became completely rock hard. You would need a hammer to break it, and even that, I’m not sure if it would actually break! 

Any other cool facts about the placenta that most people don’t know?!
