Friday- one of my fav F words… one of the other favs?- FORGIVENESS. Let’s talk about it 🫠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Going through life can get so messy and it’s impossible to get through it without either offending someone or getting offended. The point is- SOMEONE’S GETTING HURT 🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I was reflecting this morning I was thinking about how forgiveness can be seen as a destination, when in reality it’s a journey with no end. 
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like the trauma itself, forgiving can be extremely complex, a lot to process, and can come in layers. But what we tend to think (and I used to 😓) is equate forgiving as forgetting. Because we’re literally always told to ‘forgive and forget’.. 
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve found that forcing myself to ‘forget’ can make me sorta bitter. And y’all, this is me being raw. Bitterness is not a fun place to be at.🙃
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But me being the introspective person that I am, decide to not only remember these things, people, past situations.. but also thank them for reminding me why boundaries matter, why I should always trust my intuition, and for allowing me to have empathy and see them for who they truly are- broken people simply reacting to their own external situations. 

So don’t just forgive and forget.. forgive and practice empathy 🤍🤍 love y’all!
