I’m giving away a copy of The Cooking Gene by Michael W. Twitty📖. A James Beard Award winning author, chef, historian & just all around dope person. I’ve been listening on @audible for truly incredible experience & treat because it’s read by him! It’s a book EVERYONE needs to have & read. I mentioned the book a few weeks ago as a BGITJ Book Club & #ReadWithDee 📚 in the stories & mentioned @thecookinggene ! We chatted [still fangirling about that🥰] & he told me “The Cooking Gene is about how we as African Americans relate to a very complex heritage through food...often without the guidance of our elders in the way we need or would like. It’s about taking the stones & making the mosaic...”.
