All summer, we watched as federal, state and local governments unleashed the full power of Federal police, the National Guard and local police departments on peaceful #Black and brown protestors, who’d taken to the streets to march against violence at the hands of police and #whitesupremacists. 

Today, we watch for hours as a full coup continues at the hands of #MAGA, The #ProudBoys and various other Pro-Trump, domestic terrorist groups. These groups seek to undermine the very fabric of our #democracy, and disrupt the confirmation of votes cast by the American people for the next #POTUS. These groups placed elected officials in harm's way on the basis of lies spread and perpetuated by #PresidentTrump and the unchecked #Republican Party. 

There have been 60+ opportunities for the Trump Administration and the #GOP to prove these baseless allegations of voter fraud, in courts PACKED by Senate Maj. Ldr. Mitch McConnell. Every case has been dismissed, because the 2020 #election was a legitimate one. 

Despite these truths, and stoked by the words of President Donald Trump and extremist members of the Republican Party, rioters were allowed to break windows in the U.S. Capitol building, incite violence against Capitol police, break through barricades, and force Members of Congress to hide, and retreat in fear. 

Today, on the day #Democrats, led by #BlackOrganizers in #Georgia, took back the Senate in another fair election, we experience unchecked violence and rioting in the halls of Congress. We know that Black and brown people are not given the same space to express their discord with the American government. We notice the difference. There are TWO Americas. #TwoAmericas #CBC #CBCPAC
